Securitas was founded in 1934 by Eric Philip Sorensen. In 1972, the company was consolidated under the name of Securitas and a logo was established with three dots depicting integrity, vigilance and helpfulness. In 1999, Securitas acquired Pinkerton’s Inc. of USA and later Burns. In 2003, US operations of Securitas Group united under the banner of Securitas Security Services.

 
 
 


Strengths
Securitas is a world leader in security. By means of organic growth and acquisitions over the past 20 years, Securitas has grown to a work force of 245,000 employees, with operations in more than 30 countries mainly in Europe and North America supported by over 2,000 local branches. The Group’s global market share of the outsourced security services market is approximately 12 percent, with total sales amounting to US $ 10.6 billion in 2007.

Divisions
The Group offers main business lines in specialized Guarding, Mobile and Monitoring. In addition, Securitas provides Consulting and Investigation services through Pinkerton and Cash Handling services through Loomis, two wholly-owned subsidiaries.
